Choosing a care home
It can be a difficult decision to relocate a relative or loved one to a care home, but we are here to try to make this transition as easy as possible. Often residents come to us after a period of being looked after by a relative, for example. This is an incredibly stressful and difficult task to undertake. We can aliviate some of the stress of taking care of an elderly loved one and allow you both to concentrate on enjoying your time together.
Many relations express feelings of guilt for their decision to seek help for their loved one, this is of course an entirely natural feeling, however, it is not necessarily well founded. Once your loved one settles in and starts to enjoy their new lease of life, any guilt or worry will disappear and you can sleep easy knowing they are well looked after and cared for and hopefully enjoying life.
At Amicus we try to provide a holistic approach to caring for the elderly. This means of course, health care and personal care, but also caring for each persons individual needs and nurturing their interests and making Amicus as much their home as a place to be looked after.
All of this means that you can be assured that your loved one is receiving the best care available, but also means you can look to us for support throughout your relationship with Amicus.
