Events at Amicus
At Amicus we offer a number of organised activities, all of these are available to all residents and we encourage everyone to participate. We have a weekly keep-fit session, led by a fully qualified activities director, where residents gently exercise and keep themselves in shape!
We also have numerous performances by outside entertainment companies. Past bookings have included "The Frantic Theatre Group" performing traditional music hall music for us in the lounge. We have also had the pleasure of hearing "Musical Soirees", a duo, playing live traditional music for us and an even an Elvis! Judging by past reviews all acts have been thoroughly enjoyed by all!
Our manager also leads "sing-a-longs" with the residents and although not so professional, it is a joy to hear! The residents also run quizzes and bingo to test their knowledge against the carers!
It is also highly important to us to get residents and their family and friends together. Last year we had a very successful Christmas party with mince pies, mulled wine and carols as well as a Christmas raffle. It was lovely to see the residents, surrounded by their families, enjoying the Christmas spirit! Despite being a fledgling tradition, we hope to continue it year on year.
